The Story Behind JellySwap: The Clear Phone Case with Design You Can Swap Anytime

If you love switching up your phone case but don’t want to spend a fortune on a new one every time, you’re not alone. I felt the same way, which is why I created JellySwap—a fun, affordable way to get cute phone cases for iPhones without the hassle of buying a whole new case.

How It Started

As an illustrator, I loved designing pretty phone cases, but I quickly realized I wanted to change my case more often—whether for a new season, a special occasion, or just because. The problem? Trendy phone cases can be expensive, and I didn’t want to spend $40+ every time I wanted a new look.

I started experimenting with ways to make my own cool phone cases without constantly replacing the case itself. My first idea was a paper insert design that would go under a clear phone case, but it didn’t hold up well—if it got wet, the ink smeared, and it didn’t always stay perfectly aligned.

Next, I considered using stickers, but I didn’t want a permanent design or sticky residue left on my phone. I wanted something reusable, durable, and easy to swap—but I couldn’t find anything like it. So, I put the idea on hold.

The Breakthrough

A few months later, I discovered a unique material that changed everything. It clings to surfaces without adhesive, leaves no residue, and can be used over and over again. The second I saw it, I knew it was perfect. I sent my favorite designs to a manufacturer and ordered the first batch immediately.

That’s how JellySwap was born—a collection of cute, girly phone cases that aren’t actually cases at all! Instead, they’re interchangeable inserts that fit underneath a clear phone case, allowing you to change your look anytime.
